Ira Nirenberg 

Ira Nirenberg was born in Paterson, New Jersey, and moved to New Orleans, Louisiana at the age of 24 to work in the Oil Industry. After spending six years as an exploration geophysicist, Ira spent the next 20 years teaching, nationally and internationally. He has been engaged in teacher professional development in the fields of mathematics and physics for all levels K-12 for the last ten years. He has also authored numerous non-fiction articles, and three non-fiction books. Alabama Whistle is his first major work of fiction. He currently resides in Mississippi with his wife, Brenda, a registered nurse. They share their three acres with many friendly animals--and a few not so friendly.
