Anthony Maranise 

Anthony Maranise is an instructor of Religious Studies at The University of Memphis as well as the Founder and director of the Eternal Insight Group (www.eternalinsight.org). Additionally, he serves as founder of the "Sport & Spiritual Life" organization, a non-profit dedicated to raising funds for and awarding grants to advance academic research in areas related to the intersections between sports and Christian spirituality. He is also a sports life-coach, accredited by the International Sports Professionals Association (ISPA). Often found writing, Anthony has published several academic works in various journals on the topics of the intersections between sport, spirituality, and religion. He is the author of five books: "Cross of a Different Kind: Cancer & Christian Spirituality" (Eternal Insight Press, 2018), "Worth Holding On To" (Green Cricket Press, 2016), "Sport & the Spiritual Life: The Integration of Playing & Praying" (Order of St. Benedict, 2013), "Beyond I Am: Meditations on the Gospel of St. John" (Amazon Press, 2014), and "Faith Filled Fragments"(Amazon Press, 2012). Anthony is an Oblate of the Order of St. Benedict associated with St. Bernard Abbey in Cullman, AL. and holds bachelors degrees in Religion & Philosophy and Behavioral Science as well as a masters in Catholic Studies (equivalent to theology), all of which are from Christian Brothers University in Memphis. He intends to pursue a doctoral degree in Spirituality in the near future.
