John Reynolds 

John Reynolds was born in Troy, Alabama, and spent seven years working with Dr. Martin Luther King as a Field Secretary in the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. After leaving SCLC in 1971, John settled in Providence, RI, where he received a B.A. degree in Political Science from Rhode Island College. He served as Assistant Chaplain at Brown University for three years, and then worked for several years in social service agencies, including the Martin Luther King Center in Newport and the Smith Hill Center in Providence. He received a Master of Divinity degree from Andover Newton Theological School in 2000 and served as Pastor of Bethany Baptist Church in Pawtucket, RI, from 2000 to 2008, having previously served as Interim Pastor at Bethany from 1997 to 2000. In 2012 his book, "The Fight for Freedom; A Memoir of My Years in the Civil Rights Movement," was published. Rev. Reynolds currently lives near Charleston, South Carolina.
