Jessica James

Jessica James is a former editor who spent 18 years in a newsroom before turning her attention to writing Civil War fiction. Her novel Noble Cause won the coveted John Esten Cooke Award for Southern Fiction as well as a number of other national literary awards in both the historical fiction and romance categories. In an effort to combat the sedentary life of an author, James works as a stagehand where she assists with shows ranging from country bands and comedy acts, to operas, symphonies and ballets. She was featured in the book 50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading, published in 2010, and writes from her pre-Civil War home in Gettysburg, Pa.
