About Venue
In April of 2016, Bookmarks created an exploratory committee to research the possible expansion of its footprint with the goal of creating a space to house all activities and programs under the organization’s umbrella. Bookmarks is now moving forward to double its annual outreach with a goal of opening in the spring of 2017 a space that will include an independent bookstore that will feature dynamic event space as well as office and meeting space for Bookmarks. This space will allow Bookmarks to offer additional in-house programming, after school programs, educational outreach, and collaboration with schools and other organizations to host unique and educational literary events, in furtherance of Bookmarks’ mission of connecting readers with authors and books.
No tickets or reservation required. Free event. Robert Hicks is the New York Times bestselling and award-winning author of The Widow of the South and A Separate Country. A lifelong collector, Hicks was the first Tennessean to be listed among Arts & Antiques' Top 100 Collectors in America. The Orphan Mother is an epic tale of one remarkable woman's quest for justice in the years following the Civil War.
