Sergio Poroger: Cold Hot: A Visual Journey
Tuesday, February 21st
Cold Hot is a photo book about the musical influences throughout the Southeastern US. The musicality and culture of the southern United States are impressive, it thrills. The South is a region that oozes history, mysticism with beautiful scenery. To capture the images, Cold & Hot covered more than 2000 miles of musical routes and there is nothing more American than taking a road trip - to travel by road where the discoveries along the way are more important than the final destination. Cold & Hot hit the road and came across an United States that is sometimes humble and abandoned, sometimes modern with its museums and modern cultural centers, but always charming. In just over 17 days, the photographer Sergio Poroger felt touched by the stories of the local people who are very fond of talking and singing, and to refer to chords from different musical genres such as jazz, blues, soul, gospel and rock.
Along the way, besides music, flavors and different landscapes changes the tone of the trip at every turn. Organized by Eder Chiodetto, graphic design by Manuela Port and produced by Patricia Bueloni, Cold & Hot has 120 pages and brings 66 pictures of ten different US cities — Atlanta, Chattanooga, Nashville, Memphis, Jackson, Clarksdale, Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Lafayette and Houston ---- carefully researched for over 18 months and photographed extensively.
