In MAGNOLIA WEDNESDAYS, television journalist Vivien Gray has come a long way from her days of cotillion and mint juleps. After struggling for years shes fulfilled her dream to become a nationally known investigative reporter. In her wake she left dozens of broken rules and a family she now barely knows. Too bad she makes a rookies mistake and ends up on film being shot in her posteriora clip that ends up on You Tube and being broadcast around the world. Quitting her network job before she can be pushed out of it, Vivi ends up back in the south, making her living writing a snarky, anonymous Postcards from Suburbia column that ridicules the lives of those around her. Meanwhile, Ms. Know-It-All is living with her widowed dance instructor sister and her children, thinks nothing of mouthing off to Atlantas leading gossip columnist, remains totally focused on her own needs, is pregnant and clueless about how to tell the father, and has no idea how to rebuild her life. Thats where the Magnolia Ballroom and Dance Studio comes in, along with its circle of women whose friendships and empathy for each other just might be able to chip away at the walls Vivi has thrown up around herself. Its time she let in some fresh airand ideas. Too bad shes about to be exposed as the mysterious columnist whose been infuriating her family and her new friends.
