Dr. Jim Tanner was only two years into his family medical practice in the small town of Leakesville, Mississippi, when his life was changed forever. On May 24, 1961, at the young age of 30, he became a paraplegic, the result of an automobile accident. Would he ever walk again? Would he be able to continue practicing medicine from a wheelchair? Could he support his wife and three children? Read his encouraging story of how God touched his life and turned his despair and depression into joy and fruitfulness. Dr. Tanner became a specialist in the field of Physical Medical Rehabilitation and worked with the Veteran’s Administration for 30 years.
