Morgan Murphy is the co-author of "I Love You--Now Hush" to be published by John F. Blair with a release date of February 2010.

Murphy is the president and CEO of the world's first social networking site for classic car enthusiasts, Motorpool.com. Prior to founding Motorpool, Murphy served as an executive editor for Time Warner. For seven years, Murphy worked as the travel editor, food critic, and national spokesperson for one of the companys most successful magazines, Southern Living. Under his leadership the magazine frequently garnered awards such as the coveted Society of American Travel Writers Gold Award for Best Travel Coverage.

Murphy started his magazine career at Vanity Fair, researching Hollywood and Washington and working with writers such as Willie Morris and Dominick Dunne. He then joined Forbes magazine as a reporter, where he covered many of Americas best-known entrepreneurs and was the first journalist to estimate Harry Potter author J.K. Rowlings net worth. He has been a contributor to Esquire, National Public Radio, Garden Design, Harpers Bazaar, and The New York Post. His first book, I Love You, Now Hush, will be published in February by Blair.

He holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Oxford, is a member of Exeter College, and was elected by University as the MBA of the Year. He was also chosen by his peers to deliver the commencement address. He is a 1994 cum laude graduate of Birmingham-Southern College, where Murphy majored in English, edited the school paper, was elected to vice-president of the student body, the president of Omicron Delta Kappa, and was inducted into the Mortar Board and Sigma Tau Delta honor societies. He was voted Whos-Who among American college students in 1993.

As a lieutenant commander in the United States Navy since 1999, he has served on four continents and his decorations include the Navy Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, the Overseas Service Ribbon and the Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.

Murphy serves on the boards of the Blue Hill Troupe, Manhattans oldest charitable opera company, the Alabama Council on Economic Education, and the Virginia Samford Theatre. He is an elected elder of Independent Presbyterian Church a member of the Downtown Kiwanis Club.

His wife, Amy Campbell Murphy, is an accomplished opera singer and director of Americas oldest Junior League choral group. The pair met while singing Gilbert and Sullivan with Skitch Henderson and the New York Pops at Carnegie Hall. The Murphys live in Birmingham and have a Springer Spaniels named Gilbert and West Highland Terrier named Guinevere.
